Adverse Weather Policy.

We have decided, to keep everyone safe, we will operate shorter hours when there are adverse weather conditions.

In the event of adverse weather conditions that significantly increase the risk for clients travelling to and from Avanti, it may be necessary to operate shorter working hours to maintain service provision.

The majority of our clients (and staff) have to use vehicles to come to the centre and we suggest that by travelling in a little later and leaving a little earlier the roads are likely to be less congested and more passable.

There may be occasions where smaller side roads are impassable but main roads are reasonably clear. In this event, it might be possible for clients to arrange for their taxi to collect them from a nearby point if it is safe to do so.

If there are unexpected incidences that mean we need to close early we will post an announcement on the Web Site where possible. We will naturally not send our more vulnerable clients home until we have been able to contact their families/carers, so please ensure that your contact details are kept up to date.
